Hamilton's Sweet Sadie Hamilton's Sweet Sadie "We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even
more temporary Irving Townsend, Separate Lifetimes. "The
Once Again Prince" Sadie was my first dog. We had family dogs but Sadie was the first
to be just mine. She was very sweet and mellow. Everyone that met her loved
her. I got her from the Hennepin County Humane Society when she was about 8 weeks
old. She was trained in Utility and we even entered a few shows but
she never qualified. We still had a bit of polishing up to do. She
earned her
Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) in AMBOR,
ASCA, and UKC. And she earned her Canine Good Citizen
(CGC) certificate. She also passed the Therapy Dog International (TDI)
exam twice but I never got around to sending in the paperwork. Sadie is competed in agility in UKC and NADAC. She is
enjoyed herself at her pace. She tried very hard. She earned
her UAGII title in UKC. In NADAC she earned her Superior Novice
Agility Certificate Veterans (S-NAC-V), Outstanding Novice Jumpers Certificate Veterans
(O-NJC-V),
and Outstanding Novice Gamblers Certificate Veterans (O-NGC-V). We've tried USDAA but
she didn't really like the tighter courses. She was ready to take the Tracking Dog test. We did 1
certification test but she missed the article by about a foot. She really
loved tracking. She would literally scream in excitement from the back of
the truck while I was out laying the track. She earned her Flyball Master (FM) title in flyball. She was pretty slow but she seemed
to enjoy it. Before she got bit by another dog on her team, she was very
confident and could run in any position. Being as sensitive as she was, she
was never really quite the same afterwards. She'd start getting her
confidence back and a dog from the other team would chase her and we'd be back
to square one. But she (and I) kept it together enough to finish the
required 5,000 points for her FM title. After she earned her FM she was
retired from flyball. She still came with to
tournaments to sucker treats out of people, get petted and support Copper. I miss her very much. She was my constant companion for
10 years. She will forever be in my heart. Sadie's Puppy Pictures |
